FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DO YOU ACCEPT HEALTH INSURANCE?

We offer private pay options at this time. We are currently an out-of-network provider with all major health insurance providers.

Private pay: This option is the simplest. No prior authorization is required from your insurance provider. Payment—in the form of check, credit card or HSA card—is due at the time of service. This option may be necessary if your insurance provider does not cover services from out-of-network providers or they do not cover speech/language therapy services.

Private pay with Superbill: Just like above, payment is due at the time of service. At the end of each month, we are happy to provide you with the necessary paperwork (Therapy Superbill) for you to seek out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance provider. A superbill is an itemized receipt /paid invoice used by healthcare providers that reflects services rendered. Health insurance benefits vary considerably from one insurance provider to the next. Please contact your insurance provider directly to discuss your plan's coverage and reimbursement for out-of-network speech-language therapy services.

WHY DO PEOPLE CHOOSE TO GO WITH A PRIVATE SPEECH THERAPIST/ SLP?

Private therapy provides a unique approach to the diagnosis and therapy experience. Families sometimes do not qualify for early intervention or school-aged services or might have a long waiting period, thereby losing out on valuable time. Speech therapy at school comes with busy caseloads, vacations, missed sessions and thus less time in therapy with the child. Private speech therapy is a good way to receive individualized instruction with home practice activities to help your child make progress faster and for parents to have access to the SLP for 1:1 training and guidance. It is a collaborative effort between a skilled clinician and a concerned, dedicated parent or caregiver. A parent might also choose to supplement public speech therapy (Early Intervention or School) with private speech therapy.
